I think I had some great finds this weekend at the Wo-Zha-Wa Days fall festival in the Wisconsin Dells. I found this syrup pump for $35. The book says that it is worth $75-$100 (in mint condition). I was wondering I there is a way to tell about what year this is from besides the 20s-50s (something more specific)? Also any idea what it is plated with (chrome or nickel)? I am thinking about getting a quote to see how much it would cost to get it replated. Would that make it more or less valuable?

As for date of mfg, I don't know, but one of my first means of employment was delivery of Rx and working the soda fountain at the corner drug store. I left that job in 1971, still in use then, same white canister, the plating on ours was nickle, matched the rest of the fountain accessories, soda water and tap water spickets.

Great piece Pemberton and price was right. I think it will display well as is.

As far as I know nickel was used mainly until 1932 when chrome came about.Yours looks like it was nickel plated .Either way I wouldn't want to hear the price of replating it(I have recently had items chromed...ouch!)I'm with Daddy on this,it has more character!

Thanks kerry10456, Daddy_Nobucks, gargoylecollector, Aimathena. Now I just have to figure out a way to display it. I would also love to have the set in the 4th picture.
