I am showing this as marmoriertes "type" because it isn't built like the old Loetz or Harrach pieces from the turn of the century - these are more like the thin-walled cased glass pieces from the 1930s. Truth be told, I'm not even sure it's old. But I do like it - quite a bit. Each side provides a different view - the bottom is marvered smooth. The neck is cut from the top, though it's a little uneven. If anyone has any ideas, I would be happy to read them!
Warren, I had that piece on my watch list thinking it might be WMF. There a piece in the WMF Ikora/Myra book, page 61, plate 20 that had me thinking in that direction. What do you think?
Mac, whatever this is, it isn't that... this piece actually has a white layer underneath. It isn't WMF quality, but it is cool. It may be newer piece... just not sure.
I think it is a neat looking piece too - enjoy!
Another lovely piece
Putting aside the base (which is a little hard to read) it looks like End of Day a la 1880's ... Elements of Carneol and Chalcedon with a couple of Octopus / Onyx colors thrown in for good measure / decorative effect ... wearing my rose tinted specs ... :-)
How is the base wear on it ?
I don't see much, Steve...
Is the inner casing UV Reactive ?
I checked it earlier today, Steve - it is not.
Very cool vase!
Warren ... Thanks for checking ... Enjoy it !
Its most likely kralik decor. marbled. I can show about 3 different styles and at least two of the shapes go with other Kralik decors. email me for pics
