    It looks to be some type of ceramic, it isn't porcelain, there are no other markings on it, just looks unusual, I don't want to serve food in it without knowing what it is! Haha

      Not a bed pan :-) It is pretty fancy and it also would have a molded lip over part of it as cover on one end . Bed pans were made of enamel , metal and then plastic . Your very unique bowl looks to be porcelain and hand painted . Very nice ! From RN Mani I have worked in hospitals all over and never saw a bed pan like it . The shape is off also . So feel free to eat or put fruit in as a display bowl . The only thing is I would not know if it had lead paint , Love it
