The objects above are antique circa late 19th century, African in origin, fighting bracelets commonly called armlets. Measuring 3 to 3.75 inches in diameter and about 1 inch or so in its thickness, the armlet is made of brass and or bronze. These items, for the most part, are heavy weighted and used as weapons in many parts of the world.
Taukuls and Assam of whom are located in Asia wear heavy brass armlets which is said to have a crushing blow and it gives greater weight to arms when welding swords, lances and is also used when inclose quarters and enfolds ones enemy in a kind of bears hug to press in order to crush his temples.
The native of the Nohr and the latooka (central Africa tribe from the vicinity of Gonfokoro) wear heavy iron bracelets armed with knife blades about 3 to 4 inches in diameter used to strike when disarmed and to tear flesh when wrestling th enemy. These bracelets comes in many forms.
