My Dad was stationed in Iran during WW2 as a MP protecting the supply trains traveling into Russia. I was told that he befriended a group of Turk soldiers , that gave him one of their knifes. This knife is a total length of 10 inch's with the widest point of the blade being 1 inch. This is double edged . The handle is crudely made of wood with brass rivets. The sheath is thick leather held together with leather cord. I did not receive this until after his death a few years ago , from his cousin. One of my favorite items.
This is a Mid-Eastern Jambiya otherwise know as a Arab Dagger. If you search Jambiya I'm sure you will find this exact knife. Very nice hand me down, display it with pride.
Thanks,,I checked it out and it has helped . Mine seems pretty crude compared to those. Very cool knifes. Would not want to be on the receiving end of one.
