I acquired this one of a kind Designer Vision 2012 wood bowl around January of 2013. The bowl, measuring about 8 inches in diameter and 5 1/2 inches in height, is a hand turned bowl designed and manufacturer by John May. Signed on its bottom " John May", this bowl is featured by the the Designs Beautiful's apartment in the Design Vision showcase.
John May is a native of Jackson, New Hampshire who is noted for his excellent hand turned wood work.
I welcome any and all information pertaining to this item.
Nice looking piece you have there. Looks like it was turned from the burl. I don't know the individual who turned this but I did live in New Hampshire for close to 30 years. There is a wood turning club/group in Jackson and I rather imagine he would either be a member there or someone in the group would know him and/or his work. The population of Jackson is a few hundred so everyone knows everyone else.
This is from American Wood Turners although I do not know which edition.

I would check the signature stamp on this piece before assuming it is the same person. It looks like an original and if so it is worth a few thousand dollars. See the link below to compare signature and design style.
