    Moonstonel…
    (765 items)

This its my find for the day. I walked into the normal SA store and this was the first thing I saw! I hurried over and grabbed it! Not even sure what it was...instinct kicked in and did not look at the bottom for anything....and paid for it. After I got home I saw the stamp of CZECHOSLOWAKIA on the bottom. I am thinking this might be Kralik? Also ecstatic that the colour is more red than the usual orange in Tango Vases. The vase is in near mint condition..with the enamel pretty intact! I hope you enjoy ...
Dave, love your vase! Thank you!http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/66239-red-tango-vase-with-enameled-design

I have always loved these (don't have any), and thought that they were so well done that they could be Loetz or some high end maker - these are a mystery up there with the Harlequins and the enameled PKF vases... there are answers out there... somewhere...

      Nice buy at the thrift!!!!

Warren, you are right about that. They do remind me some high end maker like Loetz or some great maker. Well this is my first one. But love iridescent vases more :) thanks for your thoughts.

Jitka Lnenickova organised an exhibition of Tango a couple of years back that travelled around the Czech glass museums and to Poland (her home area). No catalogue available and her book is not yet ready. Everyone is waiting for it.
The exhibition was called Tango Sklo/ Promeny Barevnych Kontrastu.

She reckons that these enamelled pieces are from Ceska Lipa (Ceskolipska) or Novy Boy (Haida) enamelling factories. I think the suggestion is Karel Palda of Johan Oertel & Co.. This information is all unclear but is on the cards to the exhibition ......

There were some photos taken available here:
      http://rover.rajce.idnes.cz/Tango_sklo/

      There's also a video:
      http://multimedia.ctk.cz/cs/video/document/6383477/regionalni-muzeum-teplice-predstavuje-tango-sklo

Check out the video first. It is a real beauty!

I would keep this one, Moon. The book will soon (?) be out and all will be revealed to us all.
    15. Moonstonelover21 Moonstonelover21, 11 years ago
Kevin. I will keep this one. Because my daughter thinks this one was somehow waiting for me at SA. Strange how they were having a 40% off store wide sale and this was the brightest colour in a stack of shelves and no one picked it up.

      Great find!
I have this vision of you entering the store, seeing the target scanning the room for any other potential hunters , then the dash to capture it & cradle it in your arm as you made your way to pay for it. Then ran out the door before anyone else realized what you had captured, yelling "start the car...start the car" even though you had the keys!
    22. Moonstonelover21 Moonstonelover21, 11 years ago
walksoftly, boy your imagination was spot on!!! I was cradling this vase in my arms...and never put it down! And after I got the vase in my arms...others were eyeing the vase...like hawks. I even believe that some were following me to see if I was going to put it down somewhere :0 XOXOXO

Beautiful piece. More and more I think it will be the production of Franz Tomschick. As well as the same labeled glass, which is sometimes attributed to Kralik or Pallme Koenig. (???)

Interesting comment, LARKSEL. The link between all three factories is the town of Kosten.
