Stunning antique glass jar collection.
Aaaaaaah I love all of them... especially the purple set. That's been my favorite color since childhood.
The purple ones are believe to be color altered but no actual proof. The blue egg is interesting, its a Mt Washington piece in an over fired Burmese glass. I love odd colored and unusual pieces, gee does that make me odd? :)
No... not at all. I enjoy your posts... I feel like I'm taking a class :^)
I know, Im kidding around. Shaker collecting is an interesting category. Victorian shakers come in just about all forms of art glass offered during the period. I have more than 1500 and still am out every weekend looking around.
I have a nice general article on the subject Ive had in many antique publications in the US, Canada, and the UK. I will have to post it tonight. Im sure you will find it interesting.
Hey, maybe I can get you hooked on them :)
I think I am already! BigTex posted some shakers, TallCakes mentioned the larger shakers were usually for sugar. Would love to get your take on them. They're very beautiful.
I will have to take a look. Give me until tonight on that though. Yes, I also collect sugar shaker! Picked up a couple of rare ones this summer in upstate NY at a big antiques show!
Seriously, if you are interested I can point you to some resources that would help you.
Yes, please..... thanks again.
BigTex Shakers.... I don't know if they are Victorian but they're certainly beautiful enough to be.

If I can contact you directly we can talk about it. I think its easier that way.
I saw those, Im not really into cut glass pieces more the art glass pieces. I think that is a whole different category but dating from the same period.
Absolutely... I appreciate the help/info. aimathena@gmail.com
No problem, I will contact you tonight and get you some info to get you started!
Its a big field once you get into it and there are many ways you can collect.
I can't wait to get started, I just hope I don't go overboard
No, you wont. You collect at a pace that is comfortable for you. And things like learning are pretty much free.
