Hi my grandmother left this to me and was wanted more information on it. I really know very little. I believe the stones are agate. It is approx. 70 inches long and weighs approx. 1 pound. The bigger stones are all around 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches long. Something neat about it is that the stones always feel cold no matter what the temperture is. Is this something I should have insured or is it safe to wear without worry of it falling apart and losing stones, thanks for your advice. I would never sell it but would like to know if it is valuable where I should put it on my homeowners insurance.
It's a lovely necklace, could have been made in India in 1970s, it's value imho is mostly sentimental/decorative, I'd suggest wearing and enjoying it.
