Found this Halloween Jack-o-lantern at an estate years ago. It is very fragile, but I find a place for it each Fall. I may be premature putting this out already, but anytime the daily temperature in Dallas is less than 95 degrees ......It's Fall!
I assume the "10" represent the original price of 10 cents. This is so fragile, it is amazing it has not been crushed. It is only about 4.5 inches tall (excluding the handle)
Nice piece. I love paper mache, especially witches and pumpkin Halloween issues. Yes, the 10 is likely the original cost, or a rummage sale price by someone who doesn't realize these have value...LOL
I had one just like this one, but without the handle...very fun pieces.
Watched some larger ones sale at auction last year, some with eyes and top inserts...highly valuable....enjoy, and thanks for sharing this
People are crazy for vintage Halloween! I can't get near it with out my wallet emptying.
You're right, Amber...we had a paper auction a few weeks ago near here....a group of 20 Halloween post cards from the early 1900's went for over $700 total
