One of the nicer compacts my wife and I found at a garage sale. The case is made of brass and the officers hat is made of copper. The insignia of the back is for the Army Medical Corps. Compacts made of metal during the start of 1942 had restrictions for cosmetic use. The cosmetic industry started using Lucite and Plexiglas during the war years.
