In looking for photos I found the "canned series" and added a few photos and the story behind them. Little daughter Annie (6years old) was in the shop eating a popsicle. She picked up a carved cat head (prototype) and set it on a discarded round block she found in the scrap heap. It sat there on the work bench for a few days until I realized: Next thing I knew I was at the store buying assorted canned goods and cutting off the labels. Here was the result. . . Tuna cats were the first in a series. But I am a dog lover too and along came Mighty Dog! Only about 5 of these in existence with different breeds of doggers. Found a photo of the first mighty dog. (one at far right). As to Jack Mack...this is the only one I ever carved!

sean68......"the one with the waggely tail!" oops, no tail on mighty dog. They will always be the year I was born. '55'. when my ex and I were also biz partners the single most topic to start an argument was pricing of our art work. I always go with the hourly approach. Carving is- after all- a job! but a very fulfilling one.

Good morning, No, come to think of it! they have cute faces though, good subject matter. maybe sitting on a sombrero.
One of my pieces has a postman standing by a mailbox with a terrier attached horizontally to his leg. The caption reads... "don't worry, he won't bite" A favorite for folks who had postal service careers.

Oh I would love one hanging from a Pitbull and another with a sun conure riding on its back.
My Bella (the brute) thinks she can take my Pitbull. LoL
I have a small zoo. 2 Chihuahua's, Pitbull, Sun Conure, Canary and an Algae eater that's been around since my son started walking. LoL

Well, let's get the hen house going and then we will see about the rest of your menagerie! lol When we moved to Fl we had 2 goldens, two cats and an iguana named marlin. I love a zoo.
