    (436 items)

We picked up this 8 Point/16 panels ART DECO vase yesterday that has a bulbous round body outlined in black and with a sloping pedestaled base. The orange and grey colors are purposely mottled to create this "ravaged" look and there is a clear glaze inside and out of the vase. The markings underneath are a 10g53 or a 10(long9)53 with a black A in the color used to decorate the trim (trial color). It measures 8 1/4" tall and when I first saw it, I thought it could have been an early glass item like the knuckle bowl that I posted last week. Any ideas on who could have made this Art Deco-ish Pottery Vase? Thanks, RER(BOB)

Hedgewalker WOW That's two for Two. You're an amazing researcher. Glad to know that it's a Czech item....I wasn't too far thinking that it looked like some of the Czech Art Deco glass I've been seeing on CW. I appreciate your help and thanks czechman for the confirmation and the Love! BOB

Thanks JayHow! When I saw it at a seller's shelf at a flea market, I was hoping it would be Glass (like the Kralik) piece i listed last week and I was surprised to find out it was pottery. The price $13.00 was quite reasonable and since I like "Art Deco/different stuff" there was no hesitation on my part to buy it. Probably thousands of people walked by it without even looking at it. I am not surprised that it's a Bohemian item and that Hedgewalker was able to find the info. for me. Thank you Lee for the LOVE! BOB

Hi Gary! It does look like it's been dragged through some constellations/hit by meteors and torched so I can see the reasoning...lol BOB

Nice find! You should definitely add some other pieces. I'll post this shape in one of my favorite patterns. Yours may be hard to find in other shapes, but the fun is hunting! The variety of Czech pottery will amaze you!
