      I have a chair similar to this with the rolled seat and mine also has a solid back that is curved to hug a person's back. It was purchased in 1949 by my parents in Olathe, KS - I was born that year. I have other rocking chairs that belonged to my grandmother and great-grandmother. My mom told me they were made specifically for them, very low to the ground, because my grandmothers were very short.
