This little Handled Spatter Cased Glass item was strange enough for an inquisitive soul like me to be attracted to it...so I bought it. According to my wife, I don't usually use "reasoning" when I buy things anyway, but when I get home and can't figure things out, it bothers me so I'll pass the worries onto my CW friends. It is all one piece, the applied handle is emerald green, the base (saucer) has swirls of Emerald green and the cup is cased glass; green inside layer, marbled white spatter in the middle layer and a clear outer later. The under-base is recessed with a polished pontil and the rim is flat & sharp. Don't lose any sleep over it, but have you seen this (my) "thing" before. Thanks all, RER(BOB)
Love this!!
Is it big enough for a scoop of ice cream?
Thank you Moonstonelover21, Manikin, valentino97 and vetraio50 for the Love! RER(BOB)
The rim is too sharp for any spoons but it does measure 3" tall by 3" for the cup so yeah....a large scoop! lol BOB
Funny little thing!...:-))
I think it's a 'finger candle holder'; ie. a candle holder with a small 'finger' handle. Pretty glass too; has an almost marble effect.
They do sell round -bottomed votive candles so that is a possibility but the glass is quite delicate and would probably shatter from the heat once the candle burned down. I think it's most likely "a pretty thing". RER(BOB)
Found something similar while looking at a traveling museum display in Europe!
