Can measures 10.5 inches in height, 8 inches wide on the sides and 6 inches wide at the front. Has rounded corners and what seems to be a solid steel handle. I have no idea what this was used for, but it was built to last!
Vintage gauge reads: "Rochester MFG CO, Rochester, NY 3331-5-7 Patents pending." And there is a catchy logo that reads "Dover Quality Ware. Over a century of service" Gauge is functional with original cork buoy still intact inside.
Does anyone know what this was used for? My best guess is a gravity fed Kerosene stove...how far off the mark am I?
First glance , That's what I was thinking also, but would make the gauge up-side down when hanging. So second guess would say no. Interesting piece, if someone doesn't have a definitive answer. It will surprise me. I'm wondering now. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Kerry, The gauge is upside down when sitting like it is in the second and third picture. Thanks for your reply!
With that, yes I'd say stove canister, Thanks for the info.
