I think it is! i don't have any idea as to how old this is, but it certainly isn't new. i think the design is very pretty too. Even the painted wood [carved to look like bamboo] frame is cool, but definitely needs repainting. i have a friend who can do a very nice job restoring the window, but i'd like to know whether people think it's worth repairing. i'm inclined to think so, but want more opinions or info about the piece.
Oooh! yes! I would ho2cultcha.. it's loovely..very art deco!...:-)
It Japanese Ikebana in glass...WOW!
How could you not get such beauty fixed especially if you have a friend to help keep the cost down. If not put into a window I wouldn't then it would make a great wall hanging so if you leave you can take it with you.
I vote yes.
Stunning:)
yo man ... i say box it up and send it to me and i will throw it out for you .. sounds like you dont have the heart to do it ...lol . no its a no brainer fix it up get an old easel to set it in the conner of a room somewhere.. yo i like that ...
thank you all for such positive feedback. i get overwhelmed w/ antiques needing to be fixed! but i will keep this one and bring it to my friend to fix for me. it's not an easy job!
do folks think that this is from the 30s/40s?
Looks like everyone votes for the fixing & keeping good luck with whatever you deceide.
thank you zowie. i'm going to bring it to my friend's glass shop this wk. thanks everyone for the help in making up my mind! i agree that it's a deco piece - probably from the 40s or 50s. would anyone disagree?
It's hard to say except that it is beautiful & worth having anything doing to it that can be afforded as all these beauties die out.
