Even though I saw this Quezal piece just after it appeared on ebay, there were already five offers. So I clicked on the "Buy it now" option and according to the seller, upset the other five. Although it was not real cheap, I thought it was a good price for something that had been missing from my collection. It is 9-1/2 inches tall and signed "Quezal (w/scroll) F 703". (2012)

Love the vase; love the story too. Good for you!

As a seller on eBay, I have had offerors complain to me under the same circumstances when they miss out because I had not responded to their offer before someone else exercised the buy-it-now option. It's like they feel I should be in a hurry to accept less than I'm asking for their sake, rather than wait the 48 hours the offer is supposed to be valid to see if a better offer comes along. That's the risk you take making offers when you are otherwise willing to pay the full asking price.
