Removed from a friend's attic and in need of some TLC and finish restoration I now own this American Chair Table #4817. It seems to be a nicely built table with a Perfection extension slide. On the underside it still has the American Chair label. When closed the table top is 25 inches by 42 inches. When opened it measures 42 inches by 63 inches and further extends using two leaves to become 83 inches long.
It seems to be part of the American Chair Brewster Maple Collection but I am unsure of the date. It is nicely detailed with some interesting features. Especially on the table top where edges have been smoothed on the table for resting the arms on the surface. This smoothing seems original from the factory!
I'm wondering if the table might have appeal to collectors if properly restored. Thanks for looking!

Does your label say: American Chair Company - Indiana on it? I have a old table that has been in our family for almost 4 generations now. After my Grandmother died, my mom brought the table back from Cleveland, Ohio. I remember the table in photos before I was born. I'm now 61. The legs on your table is very similar to mine. I have a photo, but it's on my phone. The label on the bottom of my table was ruin when a guy refinished it from the walnut color to a light white wash to match my mom's furniture. The label is partially faded where someone hand wrote and signed it too. All that is visible on the lable is: ?????n Chair Company ~ Indiana. I'm thinking it could be the same company that made mine. I'm going to call my aunt to see if she can give me more info on it. I'm pretty sure the table is over 100 + yrs old. I think it's from the late 1800's or early 1900's.

Based on the label and what I can see of the construction, this looks to be a mid 20th century product.

Thanks for your note HopeBrady and comment Scottvez. From what I have learned it is indeed a table from the late 1940's - early 1950's based on catalogs I have reviewed.

Sorry to miss part of your question HopeBrady. The catalog I used to identify the table was from the american chair company of sheboygan wisconsin. If you do a search for them you will find several illustrated catalogs.
I know this post is from a few years back, but I'm wondering if you will see this. I have this exact table with all 6 chairs that go with it and am trying to find more information. The set has been passed down for decades and I would like to learn more about it. Did you ever find out more about it? My family is originally from Sheboygan, WI where the table was manufactured. Any insight?
