What a very pretty heirloom and looks so roomy and comfy. I hope you find the information you're looking for.
I saw a few of these growing up in Germany during the late 70's-early 80's. Do the feet resemble lions paws or something of the sort? Could you post a few more pics please? Love it!
Oh my gosh, I just signed up today and was so surprised to see that chair. I have one exactly like it, only the fabric is recovered in cream color. My Grandmother gave it to me, it was her mothers. She told me in was late 1800's. I have no clue but mine also has a footstool, does yours? I will post pictures later of that and other things I have that I have no clue about!!! I'm so excited, this looks to be a very interesting site.. As to your question Tom, Yes the chair's front 2 feet appear as lion paws and the back 2 are on rollers. The footstool legs are all the same.
Yes it hes the loins paws how cool is this early 1800 wowthanks for letthin me know
I'm not sure about the age. But I'm almost positive it was made in Italy. The lions feet are common in their arm chairs & game tables. If I find out more I'll let you know. =)
Could you post pics of the back & bottom please? =)
I have the full set of this furniture with tuck pleats. Love it. I have not seen May like it accept yours.
