Here is a neat pair of American hog scraper candlesticks. Won these as a part of a larger Americana lot. I have to believe these are authentic....although not too early. Maybe 1850-1900? Please feel free to correct me, but these are staying in my collection. I like them, enjoy!
I love them very much stunning:)
What are they made of?
Thanks sean! Blunder....some type of light iron.....tin?
blunder I have something else that you may be interested in looking at....I will take a few pictures....brb
Hope it's not a MAC 10, as I've had 1 & they fire too fast. Waste of ammo!
Is this also part of the win that you got for the wool spinner I will call it, if so all seem different
Zowie, if directed at me, no, I still have the spinner & wish I knew how to market it. It is a true beauty!
I don't know if it is a wool spinner but I cannot think what else it could be try to find out what they used in the early stages to spin wool with ight guve you a clue
These are Candlestick holders. As for the hog scrapers, I had never heard these called that until ebay came along. I think it started as not knowing and then as search spamming.
I don't think you would get much scraping done with those before your hand were quite sore. As I recall it took a lot of scraping.
Until someone comes up with an old ad selling these as hog scrapers, I'm staying with candlestick. Unless you have a hog, get some candles, lol
aztom, yes I agree they are candlesticks....What you are saying about ebay making the name is correct I am sure.
