    AboundingO…
    (24 items)

In 2008, I waged a spiritual battle. I had just opened a physical antique and design shop, building it from less than zero money and energy, alone...lies, deceit, thievery, and health all played out their tiny little tunes upon my life. The doors closed less than 3 weeks after they opened, all in part to those manipulators of facts.

By Sept of 2009, they had all but drained me in every way.

This collection was the only factor that kept me sane, kept me able to change what seemed a lost destiny, and helped to heal me mentally, physically, and Spiritually.

I stayed in the desert outside of Quartzite, Arizona for 6 weeks. That was where I found the coffee pot, the dead cactus, and the rocks in top...amongst a lot of other Beauty, and quite a bit of real ugly.

During my drive home, I decided to go out of my way and see the Painted Desert, and The Petrified Forest...not in that order

The Painted Desert is Beauty to behold, with its fallen and standing petrified stumps and trees abounding. I went through the National Forest there, and I knew I had to find a way to keep part of this Beauty with me. I drove for hours on end, looking for any way to hunt even the tiniest section of land. I found my op in an open area dry creek bed, where I walked and found what I had come for.

On the way back to the car, I found myself darkening, asking for any unfamiliar sign that would let me know that If I Just Persevere, I Will Beat Them And Survive The Ordeal then facing.

I couldn't yet, drive away, so I walked the desolate highway, back and forth.

Where I was, was over 25 miles to the nearest town, in the last of Summer, way hot, and the nearest know house was at least 1 1/2 miles away...One lone house

I was contemplating on everything that had transpired, including the Blessings of healing in the desert of Arizona, the upcoming drive, and the events yet to unfold - I looked down at the ground near my feet, and there was the strangest site..this stupid 2004 penny - What The F---, I said aloud...and then I came to accept it as a sign of a good outcome - now a highly valued collectible, even if only to me.

No one said here that collections must have monetary value, but where does one place Modern Lincoln Signs at??? LOL

We'll find out, since they allow 1 cent Lincoln wheats, but have no category for life saving pennies

Oddities Abound in nature and man both...I'm living proof of that ;-) - how about in the Trade Tokens cat....

      Tom, Manikin, my thanks.

I wasn't certain how this story might be received, or even the new penny allowed, but your comments, and all I have seen here on the CW, are special to me.

AO, just found your “ugly penny” post from years ago. I hope all those vexing issues are gone from your life now and all is positive.
I enjoyed the post and, most of all, your sense of humor!
