My friend suggested I take my new metal dectector to an old abandoned graveyard on a hillside in the woods. Most of the graves were marked with uncut stone spikes. There were depressions in the soil where the caskets had collapsed from their age and the weight of the soil. Two minutes out and I got a strong signal. I reached into some wet leaves without digging and pulled this item out(center of pic). Its silver. Some of the surrounding coins I dug and found over the years.
WOW, I have to get a metal detector! Nice finds! =)
sweet Ron!! Dude this very beautiful:)!
Good idea Tom, & I will walk softly behind you with my staff that toolate widdled & trip you when you find something good O:^)
Thanks tom,Sean,and Aimathena.I didn't consider the center piece a good find.Its a coffin handle.
Omgosh Ron, I don't know if I should laugh or gasp. Its still very beautiful and lots of different things you could do with it, I'm sure.
I've had a good detector for a dozen yrs & hardly used it. Maybe I should take it out for a walk. It looks like it needs exercise even if I don't. LOL Waiting on Aim to get here to handle the digging while I do the scanning.
Aimathena LoL ]:^>
You are very welcome RonM! =)
Don't be afraid to get your feet wet.The best finds are in the water where the tourists swim.
Figures! Well if I'm digging in the dirt then your getting served mud pies mister :^P
I agree Ron!!
Aim, nothing more dangerous than an angry woman! OK, I'll carry the shovel until you need it but it might interfer with the detector. Women!!
Oh, RonM, never tried that. I have a "Classic IDX" that is 12-13 yrs old but kept inside. Seems to work fine after a bit of cleaning & new batteries(kept separate). To use in the surf, I probably need to treat with Corning compound or silly-cone around the wire ports.
Great finds!
I don't think anyone in the graveyard needs it! What a beauty!!
Lucas my Blunderbuss friend... if I carried the shovel you might have a headache when you wake up LoL
I take note that I have been warned and to wear a helmet around Amy.
=^D you keep me in stitches Lucas xo
An old casket handle perhaps?
