    (94 items)

this is my latest aquisition, it stands 16cm or slightly more than 6in tall. I like it a lot, it consists of 4 layers of glass, clear, cadmium yellow, fat layer of clear and black (brownish). I have seen this decor before but without solid attribution, seller suggested it's french but to me it seems bohemian.

I agree Bohemian; mostly from the colors and shape. I love the yellow and black - almost like a crackle or mimosa. Very nice!

Thank You friends for all the loves and the comments!

It actually reminded me of Loetz yellow and black vases just like dlfd911 posted (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/101875-loetz-yellow-with-black-vase) recently, the technique is obviously different but the dramatic effect for me is similar.

MacArt, I know the colors are different, but I ran across this Romanian vase on Ebay a short time ago, and thought you might want to take a look at it; it has a similar effect with the dark brown crackle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/19-X19-SIGNED-HAND-BLOWN-GLASS-VASE-YELLOW-CRAQUELLE-BY-ROMANIAN-ARTIST-/300943204802?nma=true&si=nCZJ9Xem%252BI1N6qTro2euAW1mgao%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

...of course, it is sort of a strange listing - who is the artist who signed the piece? ;)

      Hey Michelleb007!

Thank You for showing me this! If I understand correctly the listing is by the people making these items, they make copies or products "inspired by" French craftsmanship from Art Deco and Art Nouveau era as they say, so I would assume the one in the listing You sent is a giant version in the same technique mine was made, but I don't believe they made mine.

MacArt, I agree - your vase definitely has an older feel, and a very nice deeper crackle. I love the shape of your vase - it is very pleasing. I just thought it was interesting that they made a reproduction (sort of) of the decor - they must have seen an original, too! :)
