This 7-3/4 inch Tiffany Cypriot vase is signed "8369 J L. C. Tiffany - Favrile". The J suffix makes it easy to date because vases with the J suffix were shown in the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exhibition in San Francisco. Could this have been one of them? I have had this one a long time. (1986)

I'd say chances are 95% that this was from that exhibition. They would have been silly NOT to include such an incredible work of art!

Tiffany pieces that were displayed in the various expositions were usually marked "Special Exhibit", "Exhibition Piece", or "Exhibitiion" with the name of the exposition, etc. along with the signature. But I don't know if there were any other entered pieces that did not have this additional marking.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to think so & a beauty at that. Glass is aways so clean to me & can be designed in anyway you can think of.
