My Greatgrand parents owned a country general store in the early 1900's(late 1800's?) in Oklahoma. I found the globe in the barn behind the old home place. I remember my Grandmother having an old gas pump that was very tall and had a glass tanks to see the gas as it was pumped in to it, not sure if this globe went with that pump. I can't seem to find another globe like this one, As you can see it is all milk glass. The top and bottom rockers and the word gasoline is pressed into the glass. Some of the red paint is fading, no crackes or chips. Anyone know anything about this globe?
Thanks, Glenn
Very cool looking one piece milk glass globe, Good looking patina also.I think they were just generic globes that came on the pumps when delivered to the station or the country store. And then what ever oil co you decided to go with or brand .The oil co would bring you that globe Texaco , Mobil, Shell etc.
Very cool!!!
