Just finished this trunk. I "refinished" this one rather than doing a historical restoration. Not sure how i feel about the gold but thought it might work well with the lighter colored Ash wood.

I am not a big fan of gold on hardware but you did such a nice job of it that it looks great -- looks like the whole trunk is brand new -- amazing!

Great job! I personally like the rustic/authentic look with trunks, but that refinished ash wood is beautiful. That would be a great trunk to have in a living/dining room as a decoration piece.
