There really is not much to say of this sterling silver brooch. Except that it's old and shows a beautifully detailed portrait. Notice the church (left) in the background, and also how detailed this is.
The brooch has a diameter of 3 cm and a c-clasp with long needle.

      Such great detail.
Is she wearing a Celtic cross brooch & is that a signature over her shoulder?

Thansk for your ompliment and comment. Yes it's a celtic cross and over her schoulder a name. I think this name is Ruffeny of Kuffeny.

Would there have been Gems/Rhinestones around the rim? There seems to be holes for them. RER(BOB)

LOUMANAL thanks for your reaction. Yes I've been thinking too . I also wonder if it would be worth to put in new gems. What's your opinion?
    10. LOUMANAL LOUMANAL, 11 years ago
Yes! It would be a fabulous addition and would highlight the beautiful girl that is depicted in the central image. BOB

LOUMANAL thanks for your valuable advice! I'll go find out what may be best gems to put in. But the question is where can I go looking for?
