So while checking out some of the local antique and pawn shops I came across this cool looking bracelet. What really caught my attention were the words "JAP ZERO" engraved on the sides. Being fascinated with ww2 and its history I went ahead and paid the $15 just to do some research and I am beyond pleased with my purchase. I've seen a few of these trench art bracelets on this site and others but never one with a plane carved and pinned on it. There's no date or names on its sadly, only the plane, the words "jap" and "zero", and "America's Gain + Japan's Loss" engraved on the inside, as well as a "V" under the plane with morse code ...- meaning victory referencing the "V for Victory" champagne. Being an aviation major at my college, I can't wait to show some of my seasoned instructors my little piece of history. I just wish I knew the story behind it and who it belonged to. Any interesting info anyone might have on this particular bracelet, I would be more that excited to hear about it.

I have a several of these WW2 trench art bracelets (some posted on this site) and have collected trench art for over 20 years.

This is the first example that I have seen with an additional attached airplane!

These were very popular pieces in the Pacific theater-- many are engraved with a location and dates.

They appear to be made by both service members and local craftsmen.

I would have gladly paid $15 to add this to my collection-- it is worth several times that!
