1938 Coca-Cola "Master" Ice Cooler manufactured by Cavalier Co., Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Construction: Stamped from rust-resisting Galvannealed steel. Welded and braced. Finish: high-baked enamel over high-baked primer. Hardware in bright finish.

Hard to tell without other pictures (inside view) whether it is a Standard or Electric version. It's a cool cooler either way. Very nice that you've been able to keep it in the family. A few Cokes have been fished out of that thing, I'm sure. Capacity is 144 6-1/2 oz bottles. 8 ozers today.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was an electric. Based on the the mounting holes in the frame on the base. Also there are holes around the edges where the removable panel would have mounted.

Good eye Tommy. I'm wondering if the handles are original. What do you think?

I think the handles are good, there were quite a few styles used.
