This design is called Fleurette and is marked "Made in occupied Japan" which is the period after WWII - from 1945 to 1952 when Japan was occupied by the Allied Powers (led by the US), this is an interesting write up about why that particular mark was used.

I found this, together with complete sets of dinner service in an Antique centre in Scottsdale.

Thank you kerry for the appreciation. LOL - I was sorely tempted but even with the few pieces I succumbed to, after I repacked them with lots of newspaper, they filled up a decent sized carton which I was wondering if would fit into the small overhead cabins of those small domestic planes!
