This reel is one of the earliest (and rarest) reels that Penn produced. It is the Model F, one of two models (with the Model K) that Otto Henze created after leaving Ocean City Reels and starting Penn. It was made in 1932 and was not available to the general public.

I have a model F And this is the first site that has told me anything about it.
It is different from any other Penn reel i have ever seen?

Well there is one that was not accounted for . Becase I have it!
But I would like to know what it is worth?

Does anyone know the value of a Penn model F?

The Penn Model F is more common then the Model K, which there are 2 types, with and without star drag. About 12 to 15 known Model F reels. Price depends on condition. In nice shape about $1000 to $1200. I don't think this one will bring the $2000 he is asking for on eBay.

I also do not think it will bring the 2K on ebay. Never seen one go that high since "back in the day"..This day, no. Let it roll with a small reserve but is probably into it fairly deep and wanting to recover. Who knows.

Sold this morning for $1700...and I still believe it would fetch more if I wanted to wait it out and play the game. The fact is I was not "into it fairly deep" and came upon this reel at no expense (free) to me, so this was "found" money to me. The buyer , who is quite educated about vintage reels, understands he got a good deal on this reel and is quite happy.

Oh My..You said that the Mod K is harder to find? I found one..Yep sitting in a box in my grandfathers garage. How much is that thing worth?? I almost sold it on ebay at a starting price of 99 Cents! YIKES! It is in Great Condition, I wouldn't say Mint, But Great. I also have a Penn Senator 3/0, not a special (the one with maroon) I also have another Penn reel the Jigmaster 500 #1359 still in the box..plus another one that is used..I have another reel that is about the same age, but not Penn..What could these be worth??
