I think this might be my personal find of the year, fortunately for me I bought it from ebay only with one other competitor. They stand 25cm or 10in tall, have huge polished pontil marks, and one of them is marked 1/214 if I read it correctly. I love those cabochons.
WOW... These are stunning. I love the color, shape and decoration.
Wow. Stunning
Thank You friends for the loves and comments!
Hey Czechman, I'm Art I'm not Dan :D
well I was kind of on a fence when I bought them, but when I unwrapped them today and found those pontil marks I kind of got a feeling they must be Loetz, who else would do polished pontil mark on a vase with cut rim? Either way I'm happy with them.
Hi Mac
Good spotting ... Great pieces ...
Can you tell from the looking at the mark (loupe) just what has worn away ... The photo can't help that much ... Could be a 4 or 7 or 9 ... Could be a I or a II at the start ...
Think the black numbers may predate the gold ones ...
Also Love the carbochons ...
Cheers
Hi Steve!
took a second look and to me it looks like dot/214.(in photo first number looks like 1 but in reality the lower part or dot is on surface, but upper part is on the other side)
100% Loetz Malachit. I'll see if I can find the shape (many of the early ones haven't been published), but the I/214 would be the decor number. What a huge, great find! Congratulations!
Spectacular find! Congratulations! Beautiful Pair!
That is great, Thank You Warren for confirmation!
And Thank You everyone for loves, comments and congratulations! Sometimes it pays off going through thousands of ebay items.
These are very beautiful and you very very blessed to have these stunners:)!!!
Fabulous!..:-)
So very beautiful and elegant
Great find indeed! The opal cabochons are just beautiful. Warren is right, the I/214 is the decoration number. I will add these to the DEK section on the site.
Thank You all once more for comments and loves !
I'm happy to contribute LoetzDance!
So am I correct to think they are end of 18 hundreds?
A gorgeous pair.
I adore their shape and colors.
Very nice!
really like a pic-nic day
