When I see something that is attractive and that I know nothing about, I tend to buy them.....why? I don't know. This spatter Glass ball in itself presents no challenge but it does have a signature that I don't recognize and a strange inner webbing of glass that ends in deep dimples on the outside of the ball. It could be an incense burner missing it's wick/ring assembly but I can't see how the wick could reach the oil in the inner ball. It measures 4 3/4" in diameter, has lots of wear on the polished pontiled under-base and has strings of glass forming a web inside. Strange indeed!! Any ideas?? ...on the signature??..Thanks, RER(BOB)

That what I thought it might be...an oil burner.....??
I would hate to put oil in it since it would be impossible to clean.....looks good as a decorative item. BOB
Hmm interesting item, i have no idea. But its the sort of thing I'd buy. In fact i did buy a glass oil burner without knowing what it was. This is very pretty & weird, it looks a bit fine to be an oil burner
Thanks for your comments Vintagefran; If it was an oil burner/incense ball, it would be difficult to install a wick that would reach the oil since there is a lastic-like webbing connecting the insides of the ball. Weird-like-me ....I would say...I am talking about this ball of course. lol RER(BOB)
