This is a old pairpoint oil lamp my grandmother found in a house in the 30's. It's dual wick Quadruaple silver plated. I know nothing about it's age and would love to know more about it. If anyone can tell me anything email me at roywoodson@att.net. I love this lamp and would love to know more about it.

As I can see this is an original english duplex oil lamp. If you see carefully what does write on wick rise knobs then probably you can understand wich company made this splendid victorian oil lamp. I'm 14 years old and I'm hope that I can help with somethinabout oil lamps, because I have little experience with them. Best wishes and write to my email !
If it is signed Pairpoint Manufacturing, it was made 1880-1900. If it is marked Pairpoint Corporation, it was made 1900-1938. It was made in New Bedford, Mass. Nice lamp, do not polish it, the silver plating will eventually rub off. Just clean with a damp cloth. Hope this helps.
Curious how you say silver? Most in my experience are nickeled. Also what indicates 4 coats? Probably should be a copper coat between each silver plate. Sounds likely but never had 1. Silver just doesn't seem like a practical plating for a lamp unless to impress. Would have to polish it everytime it was used. In silver, would be a really nice collectable!
Quadruple plate silver is very typical of Pairpoint. Pairpoint began making hardware for higher end caskets and coffins. Silver plating was, of course less expensive than pure silver. I do not know their method in "Quadruple Plating", but I do know that it is silver and not nickel and that they continued this finish on many of their electric lamps, including "Puffies". An example of one of these electric quadruple plated bases can be seen with the "Garden of Allah" lamp in my collection.
Quadruple plating means it was electroplated 4 times ( dipped in an electrified solution causing the silver to adhere to the metal). RER (LOUMANAL)
