    I have no idea what this is for, nor how i acquired it, but i've had it for quite a few years - finding it - losing it - refinding it. What is it?

    It says Hastings Steel-Vent "Set the Pace" by Peerless Instrument Co. Chicago USA. It has a very cool graphic of what looks like either a strong man or an escaped prisoner.

      Automotive Piston Compression gauge, unscrew spark plus and place rubber boot in hole, turn over engine and compression of that cylider is on gauge.

      Should have added "Hastings" in one of the largest piston ring manufactures

      The character is the Hasting Man and has been part of the packaging and such from 1962 on, Hastings was est in 1915
