Contract for the Mk4 helmet of 1,368,000 was placed in December 1944, but not sure if production started then or in early 45. BMB & Ro&Co were the two contractors, this one being a RO&Co made Mk4.
It is painted textured dark brown which was the colour by that time that all helmets were painted in.
It has a Mk3 chin strap but they also used the Mk4 chin strap as well, & a Mk3 liner,of which was a lift the dot.
Production went on until January 1946, so was only for about a year.
