    There is a date on the front with some writing - I think names. The year or number on the front is 1904. Underneath is a symbol with I think O D and E on it. So curious about this.

      The mark is a German one for Carl Deffner, Esslingen, Germany. He was a maker of decorative copper, brass and plated tableware, born in 1856. He took over management of his father's metalware factory in 1900. Responsible for many excellent designs during the art nouveau and art deco periods. The factory closed in 1959.

      The only part on the flagon that appears brass is the thumb lid opener & possibly the handle.
