Hi, this is a Bohemian glass shade (one of a pair). I'm hoping someone can help me to identify it further.

The green veining is embedded, and the background is a opaque very pale yellow/ivory colour with what looks to be an iridescent oil spot layer on top of the opaque layer. The gold inner layer is not as thick as some of the American makers. The fitter is 2 1/4" diam (outer) and the length, 4 3/4". The edges are scalloped and smooth, and the rim is ground and polished.

I believe it is either a Pallme Konig or Kralik shade. I am leaning toward PK. I read Alfredo's site religiously and the updates. It would have been bought in the northern US or Southern Ontario, Canada.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks! I looked back at a note my late mother-in-law had made, which says this is Durand! This shade was probably bought in the 1950s or 60s when she bought most of her glass. I wonder if this is accurate or a best guess on the part of the seller and her.

Do take this for what it is worth. But by what I can see of that fitter I don't think these were made in America. I think you were on the right track before you found the Durand note. We will keep looking, I hope we can eventually get to more than Bohemian. But for now, that is where it belongs, I believe.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa

      Hi,
I just found a shade that appears to be a match for your shades. It was listed on site called Worthopedia and had been listed on ebay by a company here in Canada. Bernardis antiques in Toronto. They are a well established company and are held in fairly high esteem. They claim that it is indeed a piece made prior to 1914 and of Czech or German and possibly Kralik. Hardly irrefutable evidence I know but it is yet another shout against any Durand speak. I hope this helps. At least we know there was one sold on ebay in November of 2013. If you are a member of that site I believe you can also find the sale price.
      Sincerely,
      Lisa
