Servex Australia made these electric ceramic jugs till 1957. My mum lived in Melbourne, Australia in the early 60s (very rare for women during those time to travel from Asia and live in a foreign country and even rarer, to get a western education. Mum says her mother was progressive.) and this was hers. The lid is bakelite and this yellow ceramic body seems to be quite a common colour. I still remember these black and white electric cords (we had an iron and a super strong hair dryer in the 70s with the same cords). I don't dare try to see if this electric jug still works for fear that I'll blow something and shut down the power in my flat or worse, the entire block!
Thanks for the love, DrFluffy!
