      Is this when the name NEW PENCE was coined(pun intended)? As many of the old & new coins I've had, I just didn't connect the "NEW" with the change to decimal. Duh! Why don't I send you some of those things that I have been posting, sell at a good price & keep 15%.

      reply---the official change over to NEW PENCE in the uk occured on the 15th feb 1971, it superceeded the old stirling currency and all the old cash machines were dumped and new ones had to be bought showing the new currency.
