      This is WWI, 2nd class. If you get a magnifying glass, if needed, & look on the ring, you should find markings that will tell you who the maker was. Does a magnet stick to it as there was a reason for them being called "iron" crosses & almost all have an iron core with very few real exceptions

      Thanks blunderbuss. A magnet does stick to it. I added another picture of the ring. I can't see it well enough to tell what the markings are.

      All second class versions were made to be suspended from a ribbon. The first classes are pin backs.
