    i found this grinding wheel half buried i the woods .it measures 22 in across.i realy dont see how you could sharpen anything on this.looks like something that came off fred flintstones car.

      Living in Ohio I see alot of them in the area except they are normally about 4 - 5 ft. in diameter...to my understanding they were used in mills to grind corn

      As for the grist mill wheels I think they would have groves on the sides. I can't image there would be a LOT of the 4-5 ft wheels out there, even in Ohio.
