Are you saying the chime is off on count ? If that is the case, the hands are not in the wrong position, you need to re-time the chime. small lever inside of door L/H side

I most certainly could be wrong, but although it looks age appropriate (or certainly not recent) I doubt that the dial is original. It doesn't have "Sessions" immediately below the XII and with the minute increments being partially hidden, the chapter ring appears to be just a little too big. Unless this was a special order, or a serious labor dispute, I don't see how this could have made it out of the Sessions factory to market. Do you have any provenance information on it?

You can certainly sync the strike train to the dial, or to the normal hour hand position.

It's an interesting piece. Too bad the story behind it may have been lost to the ages.

It appears to be in excellent condition. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you Bruce99, it's not what I wanted to hear but it makes sense. I dont know where my mother got it but she handed it down to me because out of 6 kids and many visitors she said I was the only one to notice this, and now I laugh because no one has picked up on this even years after it's been in my living room, thanks, Robin

Like a typo, Robin, it's not hard to miss. You have a very keen eye. It's hiding in plain sight. It's possible that someone at Sessions was having a bad day and missed it. The dial looks very similar to those shown in my reference materials for this model but they had a small "Sessions" printed on them. If the dial was placed after the clock was manufactured, someone did a very professional, clean job of it. It's definitely a unique and well cared for clock. Best regards.
