Coin Spot shakers were made by a few manufactures in a couple of different shapes. This particular one was possibly made by Hobbs or Beaumont and in many different colors. The examples shown are blue, a reddish amber, vaseline and cranberry. All have opalescent dots however they do vary in intensity and for some, hard to photograph.

      It looks like photo #2... $29.99 + S&H
I bought a Mount Washington earlier and posted it. I was hoping for your opinion as I don't know what I'm doing or if I even got a good deal.

Yes they are salt shakers from the Victorian Era. There are many factors go into how much something is worth. Color, condition, rarity, and economic conditions, can be driving factors. The examples pictured can vary in value. The blue and cranberry are the easiest to find so they may be less but cranberry can be more simply because its a very popular color. Vaseline is much harder to find so it shoud bring good money and the amber example shows some red too when seen in person. That would fall into an oddity and may ring even more. It depends, an advanced collector may pay more to add to a group of them. A new collector may not even know what it is therefore not pay much.

So after that long winded part, I dont really give out values because they can vary greatly but try to stay under 100.00 for all and maybe a bit more for the vaseline.

      Amy,
I would love to see the pics and you can send any to my email if you like. Do you have the Coin Spot one?

This is a comment and not advise because you do need to know and understand the market on shakers, but Ive paid a bit more for something than its worth for some examples i need and really wanted, and got other for far under what they are worth, so it kind of balances out for me.

I dont advocate book price guides because they are usually higher than what they are worth and as I said the market does change. However if you are going to collect, get the Lechner books on the World of Salt Shakers. They are out of print so you may get them online if you look around.
