This is an original and scarce "Harry Thurston" lithograph from my private collection of Magic posters. It is a half sheet measuring approximately 21" x 28" ca. 1930
Harry Thurston posters are more rare to come by than Howard Thurston posters due to Harry's limited engagements. Harry was the older brother of the more famous Howard Thurston. Harry had a short career in Magic, never living up to the fame and reputation of Howard Thurston. During Howard Thurston's career in Magic, he often called upon his older brother to manage and help finance his Magic shows, in addition Harry was also called upon to clean up his brother's dirty work since Harry had ties to the Chicago underworld. In the end, Harry obtained his brother's Magic show after his death and sold it to Magician Will Rock who continued to perform shows under the "Thurston" banner (See my Will Rock posters here)
In 1941 when Harry Thurston died in Miami, newspapers only reported that the brother of the late Howard Thurston was dead. The Associated Press obituary only contained a single line, "He was formally a vaudeville actor."
