I came across these cigarettes in a pile of junk at an estate sale. The owners had passed away. I paid 25 cents for this pack. It is original with the cigs still inside. I did some research and found that the color strip of Maroon is during the war. It was green before the war. I really am uncomfortable with having something Nazi in my home.
Did only Nazi Germans smoke? Think you are over reacting. I like it & never seen such a thing. A real novelty item.
blunderbuss2... it's the Nazi swastika and what it stands for that I am uncomfortable with. Not smoking.
These things are simply collector's items & think of it that way. The vet. who collected them as a souvenir was probably being shot at by them & he saw them a novelty item & not a reminder of horrors. What ever you do. don't smoke one or you will instantly turn into a Nazi !!! LOL!
They are simply German cigarettes with a Nazi tax stamp. - Just another piece of history.
Another piece of history & a great conversation piece as seen here. If I were still collecting, I would love to have them. Stigmas fade, but the historical significance remain.
Thanks for all the input, but I do not think I will smoke one and turn into a Nazi. LOL
Yeah, with that uncontrollable reflex action of raising your right arm when you meet somebody.
