I recently acquired these four postcards with pictures from my hometown, dated 1912. The Porto Rico Hotel (no spell checkers back then, I guess) is still standing. It's been the one bar in town ever since I can remember. I remember the day they tore down the old, wooden church. I was probably 5. I find it strange that there are actually postcards from my hometown since it's so small. There's a stop sign at each end of town, a post office, and a bar. That's it. The last census registered 100+ people. Still, it was the best place in the world to grow up, and it's great to go "home" to visit
Thanks for the love, folks!
I was really surprised when I found these. I'm always on the look-out for things from my hometown, but as small as it is, there really isn't much.
Lovely old buildings!...:-)
