This came from my mother's side of the family, who lived in London and Didsbury, Cheshire. It's a small (11 x 9cm) bronze dish in the shape of an abalone shell, with embossed detail of six figures sitting, cherry trees in the background and a pretty border of hexagons above and below. The figures look Japanese. It is damaged with a crack on one edge, and has two 'feet' underneath to make it stable.
STUNNING!!!
Thanks! It's a lovely piece. I wonder if anyone has anything similar, or has any idea of age and whether it is Japanese or Chinese?
