My brother gifted this 1847 set to me about 15 years ago.
It's been terribly neglected because I didn't know what to do with it.
I was afraid of harming it with our modern day chemicals, so it sat tarnished all those years. Until yesterday 6/10 that is.
Armed with advise from my peers, I finally got up enough nerve to polish this lovely collection.
I used...
1/2 cup 30 volume salon peroxide
2 1/2 cups arm & hammer baking soda
mixed it into a paste and rubbed onto the flatware.
This amount cleaned an assortment of 58 pieces.
I hope the information and photos help you :)
I hope this little homemade recipe will help with you're tarnished silverware...Make a paste of baking soda and peroxide, use a soft cloth and rub it on a piece of old tarnish silverware to test. Works like a charm, I use that method at an antique shop I work at and whats nice no harmfull chemicals...try it and let me know what you think Aloha
Thank you very much hulalady. I sure will.
=^) Thanks for the Loves...

Aimathena, I have a set like that one that my grandmother left me, would you happen to know what is the name of this particular pattern?
